About Michelle Gilders Photography
Michelle Gilders is a photographer, writer and biologist. She grew up in England, and after several years living in Alaska and then coastal British Columbia, she found that Alberta provided the ideal base for majestic mountains, incredible wildlife, thrilling rodeos, and stunning pow-wows. Now based in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, Michelle has expanded her extensive collection of wildlife images to include rodeos, pow-wow celebrations and First Nation dance competitions, firework displays, urban centres, and travel destinations.
Trained as a biologist, with degrees from New College, Oxford University, she is the author of 9 books with environmental themes, and prides herself on detailed and accurate captioning, particularly when it comes to identifying species and subspecies.
